Verified listings only
Every for-sale listing is matched against county records and MLS feeds before it publishes. Stale and duplicate listings are pulled automatically, so you are not touring a home that sold last month.
About us
American Homes Online exists because house hunting in the US is full of stale listings, inflated estimates and agents who buy leads instead of earning them. We built the alternative we wanted to use.
Our story
Our founders spent years in brokerage operations watching the same problems repeat: listings that stayed live for weeks after going under contract, automated valuations that were confidently wrong, and consumer inquiries sold simultaneously to five agents who then competed to call first.
We started American Homes Online to fix the three things that bothered us most. Listings are reconciled against county records and MLS feeds multiple times a day, so what you see is what is actually available. Valuations are published as ranges with their limitations stated plainly. And when you submit an inquiry, it goes to exactly one agent.
Today we cover all 50 states and the District of Columbia through a network of more than 2,100 independently owned partner brokerages. We are deliberately not a brokerage ourselves — that separation keeps us from having a stake in which house you buy.
How we make money
You should know who pays us before you trust what we tell you.
Our principles
Every for-sale listing is matched against county records and MLS feeds before it publishes. Stale and duplicate listings are pulled automatically, so you are not touring a home that sold last month.
We only refer you to agents licensed in the state where you are buying or selling, with their license number shown on their profile so you can verify it with the state commission yourself.
Searching, saving homes, scheduling tours and using our calculators is free for consumers. We are paid by partner brokerages, never by the buyer or seller directly.
We publish median price, days on market and inventory for every metro we cover, including the months when the numbers are falling. Our data sources and refresh dates are always labeled.
A US-based support team answers the phone and email seven days a week. You will not be routed through an endless menu to reach someone who can actually help.
We screen listing copy for discriminatory language and train every partner agent on the Fair Housing Act. All homes are presented on an equal opportunity basis.

Client reviews
“We relocated from Ohio to Austin with ninety days of notice. The agent they matched us with knew every neighborhood we asked about and talked us out of two houses that would have been mistakes. That honesty is worth more than any search tool.”
Rachel & Tom Bennett
Bought in Austin, TX
“I had been watching my neighborhood for a year and the market data here matched what my own appraiser said almost exactly. Listed in April, three offers in nine days, closed above asking.”
David Okonkwo
Sold in Atlanta, GA
“First-time buyer, no idea what I was doing. The mortgage calculator showed me PMI and escrow instead of just principal and interest, which completely changed the price range I was shopping in. I would have overextended without it.”
Megan Alvarez
Bought in Denver, CO
